Mission and Vision Statements
The Vietnamese Community Association in the United Kingdom is the largest organization representing the Vietnamese community in the UK. It aims to foster a united Vietnamese community, preserve the cultural identity, and work together for development. The association is financially autonomous and independent to achieve its goals and mission.
The Vietnamese Community Association in the United Kingdom (hereinafter referred to as the Association) is a non-profit, non-political organization operating in the form of a Company Limited by Guarantee.
The Association is established with the purpose of representing the Vietnamese community living and working in the United Kingdom. Its goals include strengthening solidarity, understanding, and mutual support within the community, as well as assisting Vietnamese individuals in integration and development in the United Kingdom.
The Association also helps preserve the Vietnamese cultural identity within the community, honors Vietnamese culture with international friends, thereby strengthening friendship and promoting trade relations between Vietnam and the United Kingdom.
Key values

The core values guiding the activities, approaches, decisions of the Association, and the behavior of its members, ensure that the Association’s activities serve the community’s interests in line with its stated goals and mission. These include:

Compassion: Demonstrating empathy, understanding, and care for individuals facing difficulties in the community, providing support to help them improve their lives.

Inclusiveness: Accepting and respecting differences in thinking, lifestyles, of individuals within the community. Ensuring that everyone, regardless of differences in education, circumstances, background, gender, or socio-economic status, feels included, valued, has a voice, and is respected.

Trust: Nurturing a culture of mutual respect and trust within the Association and with all stakeholders (including beneficiaries, sponsors, and the community). Maintaining transparency and honesty in all Association activities and consistently fulfilling commitments to the community.

Collaboration: Promoting collaboration among individuals, the Association, and stakeholders in the community. Working together to address common issues, pooling resources to bring positive impacts to the community.

Empowerment: Empowering individuals in the community to be proactive in creating positive changes in their lives. Providing opportunities to build skills, education, and support resources that enable individuals to improve their lives and contribute positively to the community.

Accountability: Operating with transparency, integrity, and accountability in all aspects of the Association’s work to beneficiaries, sponsors, and the community. Ensuring that resources are used efficiently for the community’s common and non-profit purposes.

Sustainability: Promoting long-term, positive impact solutions for the community. Striving for long-term strategies to address root causes of issues and promote self-sufficiency, continuing to sustain community initiatives.
